Charleston Air Force Base

Everyday at recess, we always see the C-17 Cargo Planes flying up above our school.  Recently we go a chance to actually walk through one!  Our field trip to the Charleston Air Force Base was a very awesome experience.  Not only did we get to see the large airplanes, but we also visited the Fire Department, see K-9 dogs in action, and operate some really smart robots!  Here are some highlights from our trip:)

Ohh Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel....

Third grade has been practicing Hanukkah songs with Ms. Bal for our Winter Concert on December 13th.  This was perfect timing because we also have been talking about Hanukkah in class.  We learned many facts about the Jewish Holiday and even made our very own models of Dreidels!  A big thank you to Ms. Erica Oblinger for helping us out!

Reindeer Run 2011

This past Saturday, Byron Murphy and Mr. Caldwell walked the Reindeer Run Downtown Charleston.  We walked about 5k which equals 3.10 miles!  It was awesome to walk around the lower peninsula of downtown Charleston.  Hopefully next year we will see you there too!!!  (Thank you Mrs. Tranchida for taking pictures!)

Greetings From India!

Memminger Global has been working really hard on our International Door Contest.  The Comets were very excited about picking the country, India, for our assignment.  Not only did we create handwritten letters about India, but we also had an awesome presentation by Coach Strong about Indian Culture.  She even showed us how to wrap a Sari!  Our India unit was quite a success:)
